The objective was to restore the once-striking single-tenant building and covert it to a multitenant space attracting small and medium-sized businesses. Together, Opus and Perkins + Will developed a beautiful architecture and furnishing plan that modernized the mid-century style and elevated the amenity spaces. They sought a furniture partner that could complement their vision for the project. Intereum and Herman Miller’s family of brands were a perfect match and we were awarded the project. Our team took the furniture specifications and did a thorough value-engineering exercise to preserve their vision for the space while also meeting the budget requirements. The project focused on amenity areas. The traditional café was transformed into an elegant mixed-use collaboration area. The two outdoor spaces were revamped; a rooftop deck and a ground-level patio area now feature community tables, lounge settings, and fire accents. The boardroom was given new life with adjacent warm-up and cool-down spaces. Finally, a sophisticated club room on the 7th floor was designed with a full bar, lounge areas, a pool table, and meeting tables to support all the ways tenants can relax, collaborate, and socialize. The resulting space is a stunning transformation from an outdated, dingy building to a refined and modern corporate center.
